Welcome

Welcome to my blog. If your reading this let me first say, this blog is my own studies, my own beliefs in God, in Christ, in my Creator and my world surrounding me.I won't push my beliefs off on you, nor will I argue my point. If you want to debate with me, ask me questions or just share your own thoughts and beliefs..I'm game. Over the years I have read the bible cover to cover, studied it, memorized verses, researched the truth of it, some of it I am still researching and still seeking answers for certain things in the bible. Yes, the bible was physically written by men...but I believe that GOD is the instigator behind it all and getting His Word out to His people. But let me say all in all, I believe in GOD. HE is my creator, my father, my comforter, my joy and my peace and so much more. He gave me life and he will take it away someday. I do believe Christ was not only a man but the living son of GOD, who came to earth to not only save us, but to be with us, and to teach us. Someday I hope to look into His eyes and tell Him that I do love Him, and my faith and belief in Him are what keep me going, trying to be what He wants me to be. I hope you enjoy my writings on my research, and my studies

4 Stepping Stones - WDJD

WDJD = What Did Jesus Do? Ever asked yourself this question? Well I have been asking it for awhile now and reading alot on it.

W = Would you consider yourself a good person?
D = Do you think you've kept all 10 Commandments, Laws and Decrees GOD gave us?
J = On Judgement Day if GOD judges you with HIS law will you be found innocent or guilty?
D = Destiny "Will you go to Heaven or Hell?"

We are all called to save the lost by bringing them to Christ, but first we really should get to know them and become a part of their lives, not just a silent person who nods or says Hi once in awhile but to truly know the real person. Be a good neighbor first, invite them to dinner. Share your back deck for a great conversation spot. Bake them cookies!! Then as your relationship blooms into friendship and those delightful evenings spent hanging out in the lawn chairs or on your back decks turn into conversations...well just let the Spirit lead you in questions to chat about. Just remember to be humble in your approach (no rude tones) with the right attitude..one that glorifies GOD and not yourself.

Afterall, we are here to bring others to Christ....not chase them away with heated words, anger, and self-righteousness.

A good book to read is "Way of the Master" by Ray Comfort. Check out this website too: http://www.wayofthemaster.com and also check out: www.livingwaters.com

Lord, give me the humbleness in spirit and the courage to approach others. In Christs Name, Amen

Armor of GOD

Ephesians 6:13-17 "Therefore take up the whole armor of GOD, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace above all taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one and take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of GOD."

Have you ever wondered what the weapons are? Your armor of GOD? What should you do to counterattack when Satan attacks you?

This post will go hand in hand with the one I posted earlier titled "overcoming the power of satan".

Your Weapons Are these:
The Blood of Jesus
Prayer
Praise
The Whole Armor of GOD
Speaking the Word
Perserverance
The name of Jesus
Fasting with Prayer

Fasting draws one closer to GOD and we can request strength, healing, guidance and help through prayer with our fasting. Doing without food makes us aware and more conscious of those who go without in life of the necessities we take for granted. In your fast you must surrender your "self" in willing service to GOD and this will prepare the way to engage in spiritual warfare on behalf of others you know who need it. A total fast is no food or water whereas a limited or partial fast is restricting yourself from certain foods. Some fasting scriptures are noted below:
Exodus 34:27-28
1 Samuel 3:30-35
Esther 4:15-17
Ezra 8:21-23
Nehemiah 1:1-11
2 Chronicles 20:1-3
Psalm 35:11-13
Luke 2:37
Matthew 4:1-2
Luke 4:1-2
Acts 9:1-18
Acts 13:1-3
Acts 14:23

Ephesians 6:18 "Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints."

The armor of GOD is:
The Belt of Truth-Ephesians 6:14 (this helps bind up so we are not hindered)
The Sword of the Spirit-Ephesians 6:17(read the word of God daily)
The Shoes, preparation of the Gospel of Peace-Ephesians 6:15(walk with God daily)
The Breastplate of Righteousness-Ephesians 6:14(Accepting Christ)
The Shield of Faith-Ephesians 6:16(Believe in God and seek Him faithfully, diligently)
The Helmet of Salvation-Ephesians 6:17(Pray always to protect our minds)

Living as a Spiritual Warrior for GOD requires us to live as Christ did, being obedient to GOD, letting the Holy Spirit convict us daily, daily confessing any sin or wrongdoing, wearing the armor of God, guarding ourselves against evil and its' influences, producing the Fruit of the Spirit, having fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ and to truly forgive all those who have hurt you by their words or actions and to be transformed daily into being like Jesus.

Overcoming the power of Satan

John 10:10 "The thief does not come except to steal and to kill and to destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly."

How do we take back what Satan steals from us? Good Question! To be redeemed from the power of Satan we must constantly strengthen ourselves in GOD. If you have not already asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior, this will be your first step in overcoming Satan.

Pray this prayer: "Father, come into my heart. Forgive me all my sins and transgressions. I acknowledge You as my God, my Lord and Savior, and that Your son, Jesus Christ, died on the cross and rose again three days later, saving me for an eternal life with you. Give me your heart and strength in my times of need and be with me always. In Christs name, Amen."

You will begin to live as Christ would want you to as He gently convicts you of wrongdoings, sins, pride and the like...you are like a babe learning, it takes time but stay strong and keep your new faith alive, read your bible, pray daily, spend time with GOD as if he is your best friend.

The next step in overcoming is to know your enemy. How do you do this? Know which tactics the enemy, Satan, uses against us..some are so subtle you wouldn't even think he would use them, but he does. And it is for us to know how to defeat him through Christ.

Some of the many things Satan will use against us are: Confusion, Doubt, Strife, Uncertainty, Arguments, Indifference, Callousness, Coldness, Aloofness, Bitterness, Lack of Control, Rage, Anger, Cynicism, Discord.

Bible Verses which you can read and study to help with all of this: I John 2:15-16, James 4:4, Matthew 6:33, Jeremiah 5:21, Ezekiel 12:2, Acts 28:27, 2 Corinthians 4:3-4 Luke 8:12-13, Colossians 2:6-7, I Peter 5:8, Revelation 21:4, Romans 7:23-25, Daniel 10:12-13, Exodus 7:11-12

Galatians 5:19-21 "The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity, and debauchery, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions and envy, drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of GOD."

At His Feet Like Mary

Luke 10: 38-39 "As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord's feet listening to what he said."

How awesome it is to sit at our Lord's feet and listen to him! To be still and know Him. To have His words soak deep into our soul drenching us with His love and tender care.

Are you like Mary, who sits at his feet? Or are you a Martha, who is spending her time preparing the meal and cleaning? 9 times out of 10 I am like Martha, always cleaning, cooking, working and taking care of someone who is ill in our home, whether that is my children, myself or my husband.

It seems like I am always on the go, nonstop work, work, work and more work. Even when I am home when illness takes over me or someone in the home...it is constant work!! Dishes to do, Dustbunnies to kill, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, preparing meals, laundry, filing the mountain of paperwork for bills and my job stuff, dog to care for, cats to take care of, fish to feed, friends and neighbors to check on and call...and it goes on and on and on.

But I have noticed a change in the last year or so as I slip out of my Martha mode and slip easier into my Mary mode. Those times I am home caring for someone ill I make a point of picking my bible up before I crawl out of bed in the morning while they are still sleeping and read and pour through my Lord's Holy Word soaking up His love for the day.

My moments as Mary are not as often as I would like them to be for I am a mom, a wife, a career woman, a volunteer, and passionate about my writing (still hoping someday to get a book published as my dream since teenage years is to be an author). So those moments I take as Mary did at Jesus' feet I treasure with every fiber of my being, I store them in my heart, I find comfort in them and I long for more.

Mark 8:36 "What good is it for man to gain the whole world yet forfeit his soul"

This verse calls to me in a way that I want to give up all the worldy stuff and choose instead to sit at my Lord's feet cherishing the time with Him in prayer, reading my bible, and journaling which leads us to a deeper intimacy with our Creator, which is exactly where He calls us to be.
